The Beginning

All this has begun long time ago. It was during my first trip abroad. At this time, I did know nothing about photography. I had taken with me eleven rolls of 36 pictures.

Then , when I got the result, I only had three or four pictures available. Needless to say I really was disappointed !!!

What a pity !!! It was tirthy years ago.

So, after that I decided and try to learn something about photography, read some books, see what the others do.

As the years passed, it became a passion ...

Wildlife

I really discovered wildlife photography during my second trip in Botswana, its way of life, its rules, and so on ...

To spend five weeks in the bush, in middle of no where, trying only to focus on photography, remains a vivid experience. Each time, I am so eager to go back.

I have tried as much as possible during all my trips to be out the beaten tracks.

Wildlife remains one of my favourite field of photography. It is not only to get the famous "big five", but to be interested by all kind of animals ...

Landscapes

Despite the fact I often travel to watch wildlife and get some pictures about it, I can not stay in front of a marvelous vista without taking pictures.

It is why very often I take pictures of landscapes as well.

It really improves your skills : how to place main subjects, see the importance of the light, and shadows as well ...

I even go further by the fact to get panoramas.

Thus, we can catch the beauty of a location, the beauty of one moment and trying to seek and convey this beauty by a picture ...

Portraits

I always dreamed to improve my skills about portraits. I have always been interested by this, perhaps to struggle with my own shyness.

For beginning, you can get some trainings close at home. Thus, with kids or sometimes with pets, I have tried to get interesting portraits.

After that, I have tried with models. It is interesting to know how to play with light. But to my liking, I did not it enough.

Despite all, I prefer to be outdoors, not stuck in a lab. But when new opportunities occur, I like to do it again ...

Panoramas

Right now, with really improvements of software about panoramas, it becomes easier to do them. You only have to follow some rules. We have to change a little bit our way to watch, thus to watch wider. To place main subjects differently. But we get this easily.

In addition, some countries really deserve this kind of format; I think about Alaska, Patagonia, and so on ...

Do not be stuck in the horizontal format, try to do something else, it is what I have done in New York city or Petra.

It is for all these reasons, I try as much as possible to get panoramas in the locations I visit.
